Frontier Returns to Oakland, Adds Two New Routes to Las Vegas

Frontier Airlines is launching nonstop service from Oakland (OAK) to Las Vegas on August 20 and from Boise (BOI) to Las Vegas on September 10, filling routes vacated by Spirit Airlines

What happened

Frontier Airlines announced it will add two western U.S. routes formerly served by defunct competitor Spirit Airlines. The carrier will return to Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) for the first time since 2023, launching nonstop flights to Las Vegas' Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) starting August 20, with 11 weekly flights. Additionally, Frontier will add new service from Boise Airport (BOI) to Las Vegas starting September 10, with four weekly flights. These moves are part of Frontier's strategy to capture demand left behind by Spirit's collapse in May 2026
