What happened
Frontier Airlines will discontinue its last remaining JFK flight, daily service to Atlanta, on Oct. 5, a spokesperson confirmed. The Denver-based carrier had already dropped every other JFK route earlier this year after launching at the airport in June 2024.
Frontier pointed to high JFK operating costs as a reason for the exit. Earlier plans to use the airport's new Terminal 6 now look unlikely. A spokesperson said the airline might return if market conditions change. Frontier will keep flying from LaGuardia and Newark.
New York travelers lose a cheap JFK option. They will have to use LaGuardia or Newark instead, where Frontier's remaining network is thinner than Kennedy once offered.
Do not plan Frontier trips from JFK after Oct. 5; use LaGuardia or Newark and watch the last Atlanta flights for schedule changes.
