What happened
Delta and Amazon have announced a collaboration to overhaul inflight entertainment, most notably bringing high-speed, low-latency internet from Amazon's Leo constellation to Delta aircraft. Installation is expected to begin in 2028, initially covering 500 aircraft, which is less than half of Delta's total fleet. This timeline places Delta at a disadvantage compared to United, which expects to have Starlink on its entire fleet by the end of 2027. Beyond connectivity, the partnership includes expanding the Delta Sync seat-back experience and using AWS technologies to improve the customer journey. Delta becomes the second airline to commit to Amazon Leo, following JetBlue, while American is reportedly still considering options
