What happened
Citi ThankYou is ending its flexible points-sharing feature effective May 17, 2026. Historically, members could transfer 100,000 ThankYou points per calendar year to anyone (not just household members) and receive 100,000 from others. Transferred points expired after 90 days. Under the new policy, members can still pool points between multiple Citi cards in their own name, but cannot transfer to or receive points from other individuals. This reduces the liquidity of Citi points for those who relied on sharing with friends or family to reach award thresholds
