What happened

Chase is implementing two key changes to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. First, the point transfer ratio to World of Hyatt is changing from 1:1 to 4:3. This means 40,000 Chase points will yield 30,000 Hyatt points. The change takes effect Oct. 1, 2026, for existing cardholders, but immediately for new applicants on or after June 15, 2026. This also applies to Ink Business Preferred, legacy Ink Plus, and legacy Corporate Flex cards. Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Reserve for Business retain their 1:1 ratio. Second, the 10% anniversary points bonus on spending is being sunsetted, effective immediately for new applicants from June 15, 2026
