Cathay Pacific Permanently Closes Manila NAIA Terminal 3 Lounge

Cathay Pacific permanently closed its Manila NAIA Terminal 3 lounge on May 31, 2026. Starting June 1, eligible premium and oneworld passengers will be directed to the First Meridian Lounge

What happened

Cathay Pacific has permanently closed its Cathay Lounge at Manila’s NAIA Terminal 3, ending an 11-year presence at the airport. The lounge, which had briefly closed earlier in the year for water damage repairs, officially closed its doors on the evening of May 31, 2026. Effective June 1, 2026, eligible passengers—including Cathay Pacific premium cabin travelers, Executive Traveler members, and oneworld Sapphire and Emerald tier members—will be redirected to the First Meridian Lounge on Level 4 of Terminal 3. The airline has not yet announced new plans for lounge space at Manila. This closure marks a shift in Cathay's strategy at the outstation, moving from a dedicated lounge to a contract lounge arrangement, reflecting broader industry trends of reducing owned lounge footprints
