What happened

American Airlines will rebrand Flagship First Dining as Flagship Dining on September 15, 2026 and admit Flagship Business passengers to the rooms at Dallas/Fort Worth and Miami on qualifying flights. The rooms sit inside the Flagship Lounges. Seats are space-available only. Guests check in with the lounge host and join an electronic waitlist if no table is free.

The dining rooms were limited to Flagship First. American is removing international first class from 777-300ERs and replacing A321Ts with A321XLRs. A Flagship Business ticket that already opens the lounge also opens the dining room. Elite status and partner-airline invitations stop at the lounge. Peak hours will likely see more guests than tables. American plans to reopen the Los Angeles dining room in late 2026.

Flagship Business will get sit-down a la carte lounge dining that used to be first-class only, a closer match to United Polaris and Delta One. Flagship Business passengers on qualifying routes through DFW or MIA should check in with the lounge host from September 15, 2026, because elite status and partner tickets will not get a table.
