What happened
Allegiant Air flights are now available for purchase through Expedia under an exclusive one-year online distribution agreement. Previously, Allegiant sold flights only through its own website. This move increases visibility for the Las Vegas-based discounter, especially among consumers unfamiliar with the brand. Flights operated by Sun Country Airlines, which Allegiant acquired in May, were already available on Expedia. While Expedia displays Allegiant fares, extras such as checked bags and seat assignments are not available on the portal; travelers must purchase them directly on the airline's website. Allegiant sells three fare bundles on its site (basic, bonus, total) that include these extras, so booking through Expedia may result in higher costs for those who would have purchased a bundle. This distribution expansion supports Allegiant's ongoing integration with Sun Country, aiming to boost presence in the Midwest, particularly Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). The integration is expected to take 12 to 18 months
