Alaska Airlines' Atmos points program allows members to redeem points for American Airlines flights, potentially offering better value than using AA miles directly. For example, a flight from Miami to Cancun in economy can be booked for 4,500 Atmos points plus $75 in taxes and fees, compared to a paid fare of $251. First class is available for 9,000 Atmos points. This redemption path is particularly useful for travelers looking to leverage Alaska's partnership with American to access award seats on the extensive American route network to Cancun
