Florida lawmakers have passed legislation to rename Palm Beach International Airport (PBI) to Donald J. Trump International Airport. The bill, introduced by Rep. Meg Weinberger, passed the state House (81-30) and Senate (25-11) before being signed by Governor Ron DeSantis in late March 2026. The new name is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2026, with approximately $5.5 million allocated for signage and branding updates. While the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) must still approve the change, it is expected to proceed smoothly. This follows similar efforts to rename other local landmarks, such as a stretch of Southern Boulevard, after the president
