IHG will convert InterContinental Bora Bora to Regent in late 2027

What happened

IHG and Pacific Beachcomber will reopen the InterContinental Bora Bora Resort & Thalasso Spa as Regent Bora Bora in late 2027, after the 84-villa overwater property closed on 1 June 2026 for renovations.

The conversion is Regent's first hotel in French Polynesia. The villas sit on a private motu facing Mount Otemanu. LoyaltyLobby says InterContinental Le Moana in Bora Bora is expected to keep its current brand, and counts this as IHG's third InterContinental-to-Regent conversion after Hong Kong and Cannes.

IHG One Rewards members lose a flagship InterContinental in Bora Bora and will have a Regent there instead after 2027. The conversion continues a pattern of moving iconic InterContinentals into the upper-luxury brand.

Nothing to book now; the property is closed until late 2027 and will return as Regent Bora Bora.
