What happened
Beond Airlines, the Dubai-headquartered premium leisure carrier, has announced the suspension of its entire flight network for the summer season. While officially stated as a suspension of flights between the Maldives and Europe, booking data suggests services to the Middle East are also cut. The airline claims it will resume operations in October for the winter season. For passengers with existing bookings, Beond is offering flexible rebooking policies, including fee-free moves to winter schedules, future travel within 12 months, or full refunds. The airline also deleted its "customer promise" webpage, which previously guaranteed rebooking on another airline in business class in case of cancellation. The suspension comes amid challenges with high jet fuel costs and the airline's business model of refueling in the Middle East.
