Allegiant and Sun Country Outline Loyalty Program Merger and MSP Expansion Post-Merger

Allegiant president outlines plans to merge Allways Rewards with Sun Country Rewards and expand service from Minneapolis-St. Paul following the $1.5B merger

What happened

Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines, which closed a $1.5 billion merger on May 13, are outlining their post-merger integration strategy. President Robert Neal confirmed that while the brands will operate separately for 12-18 months, the long-term vision is to consolidate the two loyalty programs (Allways Rewards and Sun Country Rewards) into one larger program. This will require renegotiating co-branded credit card deals with Bank of America (Allegiant) and Synchrony Bank (Sun Country). Neal indicated that bringing Sun Country members into Allways is more likely than creating a new program. Operationally, the merger makes Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP) Allegiant's largest base, surpassing Orlando Sanford. Allegiant plans to leverage its Boeing 737 MAX fleet to expand service from MSP to leisure destinations, potentially filling capacity gaps in the morning. Flight options for both carriers are already available on each other's websites
