We have upgraded the model behind The Travel Signal's editorial choices.
The Travel Signal has upgraded the model that reads and evaluates incoming stories before they reach the feed. It is better at separating news from material that only looks useful.
A headline about a new route may lead to speculation. A loyalty update may be an old guide. A promotion may be a real deal or another roundup of familiar offers.
The model was tested against 200 recent Travel Signal stories. It was especially better at rejecting guides, opinion pieces, personal reports, rumors, and roundups that should not be presented as news.
The goal is not to publish more. It is to make the feed more selective. If a story can change how you fly, stay, earn, or redeem, it belongs in The Signal. If it cannot, it does not.
