A United pilot is suing Marriott after bats invaded his Sheraton Denver room, leading to bites and over $100K in rabies shots. The lawsuit alleges the hotel failed to relocate him despite a visible entry point

## Summary

A 46-year-old United pilot is suing Marriott Bonvoy partner Sheraton Denver Downtown after bats invaded his room on August 29, 2025, while he was attending airline training. The pilot woke up to a commotion, finding bats flying around his room. Maintenance removed them but did not offer a room change. He noted a hole in the AC unit as the entry point. Later, animal control confirmed several bats tested positive for rabies. The pilot was bitten on his foot and incurred over $100,000 in medical bills for rabies treatment. The lawsuit alleges Marriott's response was inadequate and that the incident was preventable. Initial settlement talks failed, leading to the suit for medical bills and trauma. This highlights operational risks for airline crew staying at Marriott properties
