United Airlines launched its first-ever nonstop service from Newark Liberty International (EWR) to Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI) in Puglia, Italy, on Saturday

## Summary

United Airlines has launched its first-ever nonstop service from Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) to Bari Karol Wojtyła Airport (BRI) in the Puglia region of southeastern Italy. The inaugural flight arrived on Saturday, marking the first time a North American carrier has served this specific Italian destination directly from the U.S. East Coast. This route is part of United's broader strategy to expand into secondary international markets, differentiating itself from rivals by offering access to less crowded tourist areas. With this launch, Bari becomes United's sixth destination in Italy, joining established hubs like Rome and Milan. The airline positioned the route as a new option for U.S. travelers looking to explore the Adriatic coast during the summer season
