United canceled its EWR-DEL flight due to a toilet leak and timed-out crew, deplaning passengers at 2 AM without rebooking support or accommodations for NJ/NY/PA residents

## Summary

United Airlines canceled its 11:30 pm Newark (EWR) to Delhi (DEL) flight after a toilet leak forced a return to the gate and the crew subsequently timed out. Passengers were deplaned at 2 AM and left with minimal support: rebooking had to be done via app/website/hotline (no agents on site), non-locals received hotel vouchers while NJ/NY/PA residents received only food vouchers, and the hotline refused to rebook to other carriers. The passenger, who had already used the first segment of a connection, was denied a full refund despite the trip being cut short. The incident highlights United's limited in-person customer care and rigid rebooking policies during irregular operations
