# Southwest folds Companion Pass into 140,000-TQP Platinum in 2027

Credit-card welcome bonuses will no longer count toward Southwest Companion Pass from January 1, 2027, when unlimited companion travel becomes a benefit of new Platinum elite status rather than a separate 135,000-point chase.

Qualify for Companion Pass under 2026 rules so it lasts through 2027 - after that the path is 140,000 TQPs or 100 flights, not a card bonus.
