Southwest Airlines is rumored to be banning carry-on bags on its cheapest fare class, a significant shift in its traditionally baggage-friendly policy

## Summary

Southwest Airlines is rumored to be implementing a ban on carry-on bags for passengers holding its cheapest tickets. This would mark a notable departure from the carrier's long-standing reputation for including free checked bags and a single carry-on per passenger. The rumor suggests this change could be tied to a new fare structure or an effort to compete with ultra-low-cost carriers. Details on the specific fare class, effective date, and any exceptions are currently unconfirmed
