Reports indicate Park Hyatt Tokyo has declared itself a resort property, causing guaranteed 4 PM late checkout for World of Hyatt elites to become subject to availability

## Summary

Recent reports from World of Hyatt members suggest Park Hyatt Tokyo has reclassified itself as a resort property. This change allows the hotel to offer late checkout (previously guaranteed until 4 PM for elites) only based on availability. The shift appears to have started around April 1, 2026, potentially to manage capacity during high demand from Globalists using points and suite upgrade certificates. While the hotel's website has not explicitly updated its classification label, the operational change is affecting guest experiences, particularly for those with evening flights. This is a notable policy shift for a key Tokyo property in the Hyatt portfolio
