As of April 2026, Park Hyatt Tokyo is categorized as a resort rather than a hotel, changing World of Hyatt Globalist late check-out from guaranteed to subject to availability

## Summary

Park Hyatt Tokyo has officially changed its classification from 'hotel' to 'resort' following an extensive renovation. This change, effective April 2026, is reflected on the property's website under amenities. The primary impact is on World of Hyatt Globalist elite perks: late check-out is no longer guaranteed at 4 PM but is now subject to availability, whereas it was previously guaranteed for Globalists at hotel properties. This reclassification appears to be a strategic move to manage capacity and reduce the burden of providing the perk to a high volume of elite guests

## Why it matters

Spans 3 hotel programs (Marriott Bonvoy, Park Hyatt Tokyo, World of Hyatt).
