# Lufthansa Introduces Up to €2,000 Cancellation Fees for Flex Fares on Asia-Pacific and Africa Routes

Effective April 7, 2026, Lufthansa raised cancellation fees on selected Asia-Pacific and Africa routes, charging up to €2,000 even for Flex fares in Business and First Class

Lufthansa has implemented a significant increase in cancellation and refund fees for tickets on routes to/from Asia-Pacific (excluding China, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Australia) and Africa. The changes took effect on April 7, 2026. Previously, Flex fares offered free cancellation, but under the new policy, refunds are retained at high rates:
