## Summary

IHG One Rewards is implementing a change in Latin America where guests at InterContinental hotels can opt out of daily housekeeping services in exchange for bonus points. Previously, these offers often included Food & Beverage credits, but the new structure focuses on point accrual. The article notes that while the specific point values mentioned (500 to 5,000 points) are illustrative of the author's personal valuation, the program is actively promoting this opt-in mechanism. This affects frequent flyers who stay at IHG's upscale brands and may wish to maximize point earnings during their stay by forgoing daily cleaning services

## Why it matters
