The Hyatt Regency Rome Central opening is delayed until September. Guests with reservations are being offered free cancellation or relocation, but it is unclear if Hyatt will cover the cost of the alternative hotel rooms

## Summary

The Hyatt Regency Rome Central has delayed its opening again, now targeting September 1. Guests with existing reservations are facing a dilemma: they can either cancel for free or accept relocation to other nearby properties. Reports from Reddit and Flyertalk indicate that while Hyatt offers to arrange the relocation, they may not cover the actual room costs. Some guests have been charged out-of-pocket (e.g., $2,100 at a Hilton Garden Inn) with Hyatt only covering booking assistance fees, despite earlier communications suggesting full coverage. Previously, guests were relocated to the InterContinental, NH, or Hilton Garden Inn. For guests with June reservations who haven't been contacted yet, the advice is to proactively contact the hotel to secure a confirmed alternative of equal or higher quality, rather than waiting for last-minute arrangements. The delay highlights the risk of booking hotels within 6-12 months of their planned opening
