What happened
Frankfurt Airport (FRA) Terminal 3 has officially opened, marking a significant infrastructure update for the German hub. The phased opening begins with the first flight operating on April 23, 2026, with all airlines transitioning from Terminal 2 to Terminal 3 between April 23 and June 9, 2026. Terminal 3 is located across the runways from Terminals 1 and 2, connected by the SkyLine shuttle. It has a capacity of 19 million annual passengers. While specific lounge announcements are limited so far, a 550-square-meter SkyTeam Lounge is confirmed in the non-Schengen area for partners including Delta, Korean Air, and China Eastern. Air France is also expected to open a lounge. Rumors suggest potential future lounges for Qatar Airways and Emirates, but no formal announcements have been made regarding oneworld or Priority Pass facilities yet. Travelers should verify their specific terminal assignment during the transition window, as the move impacts routing and lounge access for major carriers previously based in Terminal 2
