Choice Privileges has raised award night prices at several Japanese hotels by up to 200%, with Tokyo and Osaka properties seeing the steepest hikes from 8,000 to 20,000+ points

## Summary

Choice Privileges has increased the cost of award nights at select properties in Japan, marking a shift from years of relatively stable pricing for the region. The most significant increases are in Tokyo and Osaka, where some properties now cost 20,000 to 30,000 points per night, up from 8,000 to 12,000 points previously. Specific examples include Comfort Hotel Tokyo Higashi Nihombashi (8,000 to 20,000 points), Comfort Hotel Tokyo Kanda (8,000 to 20,000 points), Comfort Hotel ERA Tokyo Higashi Kanda (12,000 to 25,000 points), and Comfort Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi (8,000 to 20,000 points). While some properties have seen price drops or remained flat, the overall trend reduces the value proposition for points redeemers targeting Japan
