# BA raises Silver to 8,000 points and cuts Club World bonuses

## Summary

British Airways will lift Silver from 7,500 to 8,000 tier points and Gold from 20,000 to 21,000 from 1 April 2027, and will cut bonus tier points on many premium fares. Bronze stays at 3,500. Bookings made before 25 November 2026 keep current bonus rates even if travel is after April 2027.

The Club World business bonus falls from 500 to 200 per flight, a 60% cut. First falls from 650 to 300. World Traveller Plus falls from 275 to 175. Fully-flex Club World drops from 1,100 to 800 and fully-flex First from 1,250 to 900. Other Club World categories lose 300 bonus tier points per flight and other First categories lose 350.

Lower bonuses apply to flights departing from 1 April 2027 that are booked on or after 25 November 2026. Spending-based tier points still accrue. Higher World Traveller Plus fare categories keep their current bonuses. Economy bonuses are unchanged, as are the 25-flight Bronze and 50-flight Silver paths on BA-coded flights. Book a planned premium BA trip before 25 November 2026 to keep current bonus rates rather than buying a ticket only for extra tier points.
